My Poppy Poem

You buy a poppy on the street

What value does it hold

It’s a remembrance of those lost at war

So its value remains untold

They put their lives on the line for us

And with their own lives they did pay

So the least that we can do for them now

Is to remember them in this way

The poppy is a remembrance symbol

For those who gave their lives so we did not

It’s also there as a statement

That says “You will never be forgot”
